There’s nothing better than getting away with your other half for some quality time together in a faraway land. Whether you have kids who are spending a week with their grandparents, or you’ve yet to talk about babies yet, some alone time is essential to keep the spark burning and a 2015 island holiday would be a perfect way to reconnect with eachother.
It’s easy to get entangled with day to day life, forgetting about what really matters – take the opportunity next year to give yourself some time together – you won’t regret it.
Choosing where to go will depend largely on how much time off you have together, your budget and how far you want to fly. With plenty of short haul destinations within a few hours from the UK, you don’t have to fly for hours on end if you don’t want to.
Menorca
Flights to Menorca are reasonably priced and regular from the UK and as far as the Balearic Islands are concerned, Menorca is ideal for couples who want a slice of the quiet life. More tranquil than its neighbours, Majorca and Ibiza, Menorca is more about the great outdoors and the traditional lifestyle.
Whether you choose to relax hand in hand on one of the beautiful beaches or you fancy hiring a kayak for the day to explore the secluded coves around the island, if you’re after relaxation, this is the place to go.
Cyprus
A little further away, Cyprus provides plenty of resorts to choose from, depending on what you want to gain from your couples break. While Ayia Napa is all about the partying, there are other parts of this island that would be perfect for a little exploration and relaxation. Paphos boasts a new and old town that are begging to be explored, while the watersports opportunities are great fun, too.
Maldives
Fancy some all-out luxury without the honeymoon label? Head for somewhere completely exotic and over the top, such as the Maldives in the Indian Ocean – it’ll be difficult for you to do anything other than relax together; the days almost merge into one here!
Wherever you choose to fly, take some time out of your busy schedule for eachother next year.
